Why Choose a Food Tour in Sarasota, St Pete or Tampa?

Aside from being a popular tourist destination known for its stunning beaches and cultural attractions, Sarasota is also a food lover's paradise. From fresh seafood to farm-to-table restaurants, each city has a vibrant food scene waiting to be discovered. St Pete is another gorgeous historical downtown and downtown Tampa is on the riverfront, and home to the University of Tampa. All three cities are charming waterfront SW Florida cities, with very unique characteristics, lifestyles and history.
Is there a food specific to the geographic area?

No. Unlike other geographical areas which are well-known for a specific soup dish, or dessert (e.g. Lobster rolls in Maine, New England clam chowder, shrimp & grits/she-crab soup/Lowcountry boil (Charleston, SC), Creole/Cajun/crawfish in New Orleans, LA, etc), Sarasota is best known for it's variety of international cuisines. The food tours will provide guests with a sample of the eclectic cuisine offered in the area. The restaurant partners in our other cities offer a nice variety, too!

Learn About the City's History and Culture

Aside from satisfying your taste buds, a food tour also allows you to learn about the city's history and culture. As you walk through the historical areas and try various dishes, your knowledgeable guide will share interesting facts and stories. While the food is the focal point for self-proclaimed foodies, the tours are designed to be a comprehensive immersion into the local lifestyle and culture of each city.
Support Local Businesses

Another great reason to take a food tour is that you get to support local businesses. Many of the stops on the tour are small, family-owned restaurants and cafes that offer unique and delicious dishes. By participating in a food tour, you are not only getting a taste of the city's best food, but you are also helping the local economy thrive.
Taking a food tour is a must-do for any foodie or tourist looking for a fun and tasty way to experience the city. And, if you are looking to experience a culinary walking tour, check out Sunset Food Tours. Here at Sunset Food Tours, we offer a variety of tours that will cover the hidden gems of our local community, culture, history, architecture, art, folklore, lifestyle, fun and of course, some offer food! Our goal is to create an intimate experience for our guests by offering a friendly yet professional presentation. Learn more about our food tours at https://www.sunsetfoodtours.com/

Cost/Gratuity

The ticket price varies by experience and length of tour. Ticket price includes food, tax, gratuity (& sometimes alcohol drinks) at the restaurant stops. Walking & culinary tours are very popular experiences in the world and tipping/gratuity varies by country. In the United States, it is customary to tip the tour guide 15%-20% of the ticket price per guest. This is the guide's primary income source for the time invested in leading the experience and sharing their knowledge. It is customary practice to tip a tour guide at the conclusion since it is a tourism/hospitality gig. Tour guides are typically not employees of the tour company they represent. Gratuity of 15% is added to private tours, corporate groups and bachelorette parties.
